The Bookmark Bookstore is operated by the Friends of the Oakland Public Library and all proceeds help the library. The store (at 721 Washington, in Old Oakland) has had an on-line Virtual Bookstore  for a few months, and storefront pickup for your purchases, on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 11-2. But now you can shop in person during these same hours, by making an appointment. Each appointment slot is for 45 minutes and can be used by 1-2 adults, plus children under 18. A $10 deposit is required, but the deposit will be applied to your purchases. Masks, social distancing, and hand sanitizer are required. Many interesting books, DVDs, sheet music, audio books, jigsaw puzzles and more are available.
