Mary Ann, China and Julia Pettway will  share some of their work and talk about quilting, storytelling and song in Black history and culture. An exhibition of quilts by Gee’s Bend quilters will be at the Joyce Gordon Gallery (406 14th St.) throughout March. Learn how the Black Panther Party devised a graphic language to reaffirm Black humanity and decommodify Black life. In 2014 the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco presented a major exhibition exploring the role of Jewish architects and designers in the creation of a distinctly modern American landscape. March 2023 Splash Pad News Calendar of the Month

Sheila McCormick is an Adjunct Professor Emerita in Cal’s Department of Plant and Microbial Biology. Prior to her retirement in January 2016, she had a research lab at the USDA/ARS-UC-Berkeley Plant Gene Expression Center in Albany, studying the molecular biology of plant reproduction. She also helps with editing and is a frequent contributor to the Splash Pad News, beginning with a series of seven neighborhood walks – the first of which was posted in April 2017.
