Under the stewardship of plant whisperer Mary Jo Sutton, Splash Pad Park’s California Native Plant Garden has more than doubled in size and it’s never looked as glorious as it does right now, with virtually everything in full bloom. Of special note is the Mahonia which was part of the original 2003 landscaping but looked like it was on its “last limbs” when Mary Jo arrived out of the blue. Check the garden out for yourself the next time you’re in the park or, better yet, join the Grand Crew volunteer team for their next 4th Sunday of the month work day on April 25. If you send Mary Jo an email, she’ll add you to her contact list.
