ROTARY NATURE CENTER FRIENDS LAKESIDE CHATS

by David Wofford

Our next Lakeside Chat with Hilary Powers of the Golden Gate Audubon Society will be on Friday March 5th, 7:00pm-8:00pm. Join us as Hilary takes us to some of her favorite birding spots at Lake Merritt. She will share her perspectives on the species and ecological community at the nation’s first wildlife sanctuary. Hilary’s quick eye and entertaining explanations will delight beginners and advanced birders alike. Her passion for the birds opens up new possibilities for everyone to connect to nature at Lake Merritt.

Please join us by registering for free at:

https://a-birder-in-her-patch-hilarypowers-at-lake-merritt.eventbrite.com

A Zoom link will be emailed to Eventbrite ticket holders before the program. Please register before 6 p.m. on March 5th to avoid a delay in receiving the zoom link.

Here are links to our 3 previous chats:

Lakeside Chat #2:  “Stories from the Early Days at Lake Merritt“,  Jim Covel from the Monterey Bay Aquarium

David Wofford and Katie Noonan are Co-Chairs of the Rotary Nature Center Friends group.

      Tina,

In the future, please be sure to order your ticket no later than 6 pm on the day of the talks. You will, however, have the opportunity to watch Lakeside Chat #6 when it’s posted online. Here’s the reply we received from Katie Noonan:

“I am sorry that your commenter did not make it into the Chat. I manage the eventbrite and have looked at the Orders data for 5/7 and no one with that email ordered a ticket.

Our FaceBook postings clearly stated that people should order before 6 pm to get the zoom link in time. 133 people ordered tickets and 77 stayed to listen for the full program. The recording of last night’s Chat will be posted on YouTube withing the week.

Your reader can find links to YouTube recordings of all of our Chats on our website. I just tested all the links and they work:

Our next program will be about sharks and rays. Here is the eventbrite url for that:

      Fri, Jun 4, 2021 7:00 PM

      Best wishes,

      Katie Noonan, Co-chair
